Nurture mind & body in lush, tranquil surroundings in the Bali highlands

Awang Awang means “floating in the space between heaven and earth” – the perfect description for our villas, perched dramatically on the edge of a deep ravine with breathtaking views of the sacred Petanu River and the lush tropical forests that clad its banks.

Like many others, we fell in love with the ‘Island of the Gods’ and her people, and we feel privileged to have been able to create this peaceful haven in collaboration with the local village.

If you choose to stay in this enchanting place, you will experience the ultimate in Bali’s natural beauty and wildlife combined with comfort, tradition, and genuine service from the heart.

Villa Awang Awang can be rented in conjunction with the two bed-room Villa Beji, the 4 bedroom Villa Melah ,the one bedroom Villa Luwih and/or the one bed-room eco-friendly Villa Pererepan. You therefore have the choice of anything between a one-bedroom and a twelve bedroom renting option, with accommodation for up to 23 guests. Up to 4 more guests can be accommodated using extra beds. This peaceful retreat is ideal for those in search of culture, nature, relaxation and inspiration, combined with personalised service. Here, you will be surrounded by most of the features that draw people to this unique and beautiful island.

Three of the villas are designed by Balinese architects according to ancient traditions and a complex system of orientation determined by the direction of the holy mountain, Gunung Agung. Traditional materials are used throughout to harmonize with the environment – alang alang thatched roofing, iron-wood shingles, hand-made terracotta floor tiles, stone and marble, all crafted by local artists. The 2 traditional Javanese teak houses have been salvaged from East Java and restored using recycled floor and roof tiles.

Staff will prepare your complimentary breakfast at a time to suit you. Other meals and drinks can be ordered from our villa menu. Our trained chefs can prepare  Asian and Western dishes, including vegetarian, vegan  and gluten free.Halal meals can be ordered from outside. As far as possible, organic ingredients are harvested from our own garden. All special meal requests can be accommodated.Meals can be served in the privacy of your villa or you can dine in our  open-sided garden pavilion constructed from an  antique iron-wood barn. Please email us for a copy of the Villa menu with current prices.
